1.1 When equalizing charging is required
In the process of repeated charging and discharging of lead-acid batteries, even if the conventional charging method is used for charging, the single cells in the battery are often unbalanced for some reason. For example, the proportion of materials used in the manufacturing process of the electrode plates is inconsistent, impurities are mixed in the electrolyte, and there is a slight short circuit inside individual cells, etc., which may cause sulfation of a single cell, reducing the density and capacity of the electrolyte. , which also causes the imbalance of the power of each single cell in the entire battery. In this case, the method of equalizing charging should be used to eliminate the difference between the single cells, so that each single cell can be balanced. (1) Batteries that have been operated by floating charge.
(2) Batteries that have not been used for a long time, and batteries whose regular charge and discharge cycles are extended (exceeding the period specified by the manufacturer);

(4) The battery whose discharge voltage drops below the specified termination voltage;
(5) Batteries that cannot be charged in time after discharge;

2.2 The operation method of equalization charging
When the normal charging of the battery is over, stop charging first, let it stand for 1 hour, and then continue to charge with a small current of C/20 until the battery bubbles a lot, then stop charging and let it stand for 1 hour, and then recharge with a current of C20. Repeat this 2-3 times. Until the battery voltage and electrolyte density are stable and no longer change, and a large number of bubbles appear immediately after turning on the power again.

3.3 Requirements for equalizing charging
When the lead-acid battery is charged with equalization, there are the following technical requirements.
(1) Equilibrium charging is to use a small current of C/20 to charge the battery. This can prevent the active material on the plate from falling off and the temperature rising too high.

(2) Balanced charging should not be used too frequently, let alone regularly, but should be carried out as appropriate according to the actual situation.
(3) When performing equalization charging, if most of the single cells have reached the end-of-charge standard, they should stop charging immediately to avoid overcharging of most single cells. For a small number of single cells that have not reached equilibrium, they should be charged individually.

(4) Equilibrium charging cannot be timed, and it is necessary to judge whether the charging is completed according to the phenomenon that the battery is charged.

2.1 Features of fast charging
Fast charging is one of the ways to charge the battery. In an emergency, only frequently used mobile batteries can be quickly charged, while new batteries and stationary batteries operating in floating charging mode are prohibited from using rapid charging.

The characteristics of fast charging are: the battery charging can be shortened from 15h-16h required by conventional chargers to 1h-2h. In this way, as the power source for starting and running vehicles and ships, the battery can quickly resume its role and save a lot of time.

2.2 Fast charging technology
Fast charging can be charged using two different types of power sources.
(1) It can be charged with a DC current of up to C/3. During the charging process, it should be noted that the temperature of the battery should not exceed 45°C. It is impossible to charge the battery to the rated capacity of the battery by charging in this way. Therefore, the conventional charging method should be used to fully charge the battery as soon as possible.

(2) Fast charging can also be charged by using pulse voltage. That is, the battery is cyclically charged in the manner of charging (long time)-stopping-discharging (short time)-charging until the charging is completed. Special attention should be paid to fast charging with alternating positive and negative pulses.
